Rolling Meadows, Illinois, The American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS) is seeking a Marketing Specialist to join our growing marketing team as we work to expand our impact within the neurosurgical and medical communities. The Marketing Specialist assists in the development and implementation of the organization’s marketing and digital media strategies. The ideal candidate will be organized and able to manage several projects simultaneously; is creative and able to write clearly; has experience with multiple marketing channels and is able to coordinate outside vendors. This job operates in a flexible work arrangement with an expectation to be onsite 2 days a week. A qualified candidate may also support projects that are comprised the Association (AANS), the Foundation (NREF) and the data registry arms (NPA).
JOB DUTIES:
Develop and execute marketing plans for various events, products, and organizational initiatives.
Draft marketing copy for email, brochures, web pages, social media and exhibit signage.
Support organizational social media properties and social strategy.
Support the membership group and members with member benefits and dues renewals.
Manage the marketing and promotion for NREF (fundraising) and NPA (registries).
Assist with the coordination of exhibits, development of signage, packing and shipping exhibit materials, and staffing for educational events.
Coordinate and maintain relationships with vendors and external partners.
Assist in the development of audience personas and targeted digital campaigns.
Develop graphics, templates and layouts for printed and digital communications.
Assist in the development and execution of data collection, tracking and reporting efforts.
Special projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in related field (marketing, communications, public relations).
Three to five years of experience in marketing, communications or related account service field; association or healthcare background a plus.
Strong written, copy editing and interpersonal skills.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to multi-task
Possess strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and Abobe Creative Suite.
Track and evaluate marketing campaigns.
Social media savvy, including Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.
Team player who is comfortable collaborating with others, works with minimal supervision.
