AI – Research Scientist (Leadership) Responsibilities:
- Influence and drive strategy for long-term ambitious research to advance the science and technology of intelligent machines
- Form internal partnerships, influence, resolve conflict, build alignment, and work effectively across teams and disciplines throughout the company to execute the strategy
- Call out opportunities and risks across multiple research teams
- Influence progress of relevant research communities by producing publications
- Contribute research that can be applied to Meta product development
- Be a role model for inclusive behaviors and a culture that values, respects and taps into different backgrounds and perspectives
- Mentor researchers
- Make the company better through engaging in cross-company efforts like recruiting, cross-functional partnerships, diversity & inclusion initiatives, or site initiatives
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5+ years of work experience in a faculty, industry, or government research position with primary emphasis on AI research
- Ph.D. and established track record of leading influential research, e.g. as evidenced by high-impact publications at peer-reviewed AI conferences (e.g. NeurIPS, CVPR, ICML, ICLR, ICCV, ACL, Interspeech and ICASSP)
- Experience building and executing on long-term research strategies
- Experience communicating research for public audiences of peers, as well as non-technical audiences
- Knowledge in a programming language
Preferred Qualifications:
- 10+ years of work experience in a faculty, industry, or government research position with primary emphasis on AI research
- Track record of translating research into business impact
- Experience working with a variety of cross-functional peers and stakeholders (e.g., product managers, data scientists, designers, engineers, policy, communications, marketing)
- Experience in developing and debugging in Python or C/C++
- Experience and/or interest in managing research teams in an industrial setting
