Internship topic: Improvement of gas turbine modelling tools.

Your Mission

You will join the Simcenter Amesim development teams. This 1D simulation software allows modeling and analyzing smart multi-domain systems and predicting their performance. You will be part of the team dedicated to modeling solutions for aerospace, space, defense, and marine applications.

The internship will focus on improving the gas turbine modeling tools in Simcenter Amesim, particularly in performance calculations, pre-design, and dynamic simulation tools.

In this context:

  • You will identify and understand customer challenges related to gas turbine modeling.
  • You will use the tools in Simcenter Amesim to build a static and transient performance model of a gas turbine.
  • You will identify areas of improvement in these tools and develop missing elements using Python.

This 6-month internship is based in Lyon (69) and is available from February 2025.

Keys to success

  • You are pursuing higher education in engineering (BAC+5 or equivalent) with a focus on thermo-fluids, in France.
  • You have a strong interest in complex aerospace systems, particularly turbomachinery.
  • You have programming skills in Python and can quickly adapt to a complex code architecture.
  • You are agile, curious, a good listener, and enjoy refining your solutions to gain user approval in a scientific environment.
  • Your interpersonal and communication skills in both French and English enable effective collaboration within the team.
